We are proud to partner with several community groups and organizations to highlight how the arts can play a vital role in everyone's life.

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Wednesday Night Live
Experience a night of theatre select Wednesdays. Each event has free admission and is designed to start conversations and ignite creativity.

Jazz at the Bechtler
Mid-century art meets mid-century music during Jazz at the Bechtler. Performed by the Ziad Jazz Quartet featuring Ziad Rabie, artistic director of the jazz series. Concerts may also feature guest musicians and vocalists. It’s one of our most prolific programs where our audience and musicians all come together to celebrate music and our unique space.

Music and Museum
This innovative classical music concert series is performed by the Bechtler Ensemble under the leadership of Tanja Bechtler. Concerts are performed in the fourth-floor gallery space to provide the audience with an intimate setting to experience classical music. Musical compositions are generally chosen from the same time period as the artwork and a brief explanation is given as to why the composer and artist were paired.

Modernism + Film
The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art’s Modernism + Film program investigates themes in design, engineering, architecture, and modern/contemporary art through the lens of film. Developed in partnership with the Charlotte chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the UNC Charlotte College of Arts + Architecture, the Modernism + Film series is offered monthly (except for July and December.) We feature introductions from industry professionals and panel discussions for select films.
