ABOUT: A nonprofit collective of Charlotte-area artists and arts leaders dedicated to connecting all factions of the arts in a united effort to reflect the greater community in the work produced both on and off the stage. Serving as stewards of accountability, driven by the experiences and needs of this community and of the artists in the community.
Black, Indigenous and POC voices have long been “othered” and marginalized, tokenized or ignored. Diversity On & Off Stage believes arts organizations and arts supporters are responsible for the amplification of these voices and other voices across gender, race, sexual orientation and ability that largely have been refused a seat at the table. Together, we can encourage a richer, more representative arts landscape that grants long-overdue access and equity to all.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Diversity On & Off Stage hosts virtual events for artists and those who work in and around the arts. Participants are invited to voice their experiences as people of marginalized groups in the arts industry, to learn how to be a better ally or accomplice, and to create a safe space to grow and learn together.
